I can’t remember what was the defining moment for me, to come to a resolution that I was never going to put my hair through relaxers anymore. P.S: I’m so glad I stuck to my guns.
Maybe it was the natural hair movement I had recently gotten exposed to that period, or it was the heartbreaking moment of watching my hair come off, strand by strand, each day.
Since I made that decision, it’s been a year and a few months plus, I am happy to announce that my hair is in the healthiest that I have ever seen it.
Believe me, I am not going back from being the Au Naturel black girl. The joy is real, trust me.
As far as hair products go, some of my fave natural hair products for black girls include:
1. Aunt Jackie’s Curl La La Defining Curl Custard
The cream is enriched with olive oil, soybean oil and shea butter. This leave-in conditioner and hair moisturizer will keep your curls shiny and bouncy. This natural hair product for black girls is first on my hair care regime. You can apply generously as desired on wet and dry hair.
2. Moisture Love’s Now & Forever Leave-in Conditioning Serum
This is a leave-in conditioning serum that will detangle your stresses, soften and moisturize your scalp for days. It is a plant-based product and contains avocado and macadamia oils. You will love it.
3. Smooth’n Shine Bodifying Mousse with sweet almond oil
This special product contains Blackseed oil and Coconut oil which conditions, moisturizes and treats all hair types. Especially now that the weather is dry, this natural hair product will prevent your hair from frizzing out.
4. Revlon Realistic Strengthening Conditioner
This conditioner is dedicated to strengthening your hair and stimulating hair growth. It comes packaged with UV filters that fortify hair from brittleness caused by sun exposure.
5. Mielle Pomegranate & Honey Curl Refreshing Spray
Avoid sprinkling water on your hair in a bid to keep it moist. Water only helps frizzle out your hair the more. That’s why you should try this product instead, and thank me later.
These are my top five natural hair products for black girls. What’s yours? Drop ém in the comments.
